Education Team Co-ordinator (including PDCs)

Last night I was pondering on where I should look to find the job that I would apply for today. I thought maybe I would sign up to job seeking sites search under 'environment' or 'education' and go from there...
Good ideas, I'll save them for later though because due to the wonders of social networking I was notified of a fantastic opportunity that happens to be exactly what I have been training toward.
OK, so it's not in my current city, hell, it's not even in my current country but it just seemed too synchronictic (is that even a word?) to pass up.
So, today i have applied for the position of 'Education Team Co-ordinator'

To whom it may concern,

I am delighted to have the opportunity to apply for the position of the Education Team Co-ordinator (including PDC Project). The job description for this position outlines my ideal job perfectly.

As someone passionately committed to investing my time, energy and skills into building capacity in our people for the regeneration of our landscapes, this position would enable me to focus 100% of my attention on achieving this goal.

For the last 18 years, along with raising two lovely teenagers, I have undertaken study and training in the areas of environmental studies, ecology, education, permaculture design, facilitation and public speaking.

Please find my resume attached in which you will see that I have all of the essential AND desirable qualifications and experience that you are looking for to fill this position.

I currently reside and work in New Zealand where Permaculture is still getting a foothold in mainstream society. I would relish the opportunity to be part of a team as opposed to my current experience of working in relative isolation as a pioneer species.

Although I haven't been to Northey Street City Farm before, I have followed your project online for the last few years. It is a stunning example of Permaculture in action in an urban environment and I would love to work at such a site with such an obviously effective team of colleagues. I believe it would be a mutually beneficial relationship for all of the organisms involved.

While a short term contract suits my circumstances at the present, I am open to longer term opportunities that may arise as part of the review that NSCF will be conducting later in the year.

If I am offered the position I would be prepared to relocate to Brisbane and would prefer to take up the position as a contractor.

Obviously, I won't be able to 'attend' an interview but I have the technology to be available for a virtual interview should this be necessary.

Thanks in advance for considering my application.

Any editing, suggestions or corrections to be grammar are gratefully received...

A job application a day...

That's right, every day for the month of September I am going to apply for a job a day.

I will try a number of methods, a number of countries and a vast range of potential occupations.

The rules:
1) It must be a real application for a real position.
2) I must follow the application instructions precisely.
3) I must complete 1 job application per day for the entire month of September (NZ time)
4) I must always be honest in my application, no inventing qualifications or experience.
5) I must post my application letters to this blog.
6) I must post any responses that I receive (identifying details removed)

That's it, it's simple! I start on Thursday...
